Do not go after the past,
Do not lose yourself in the future.
For the past no longer exists,
And the future is not yet here.
By looking deeply at things just as they are,
In this moment, here and now,
When you begin to see yourself as a stranger in a strange land and belongeth not to the empire (all hail, ha ha ha) you find that you "render unto Caesar what is Caesars and unto God what is Gods." You begin to live the life interior upon which all manifestation plays out, yet on the outside "when in Rome do as the Romans do."
