when sitting and say counting your breaths and your attention is directed at this ive noticed the awareness of the five senses. this awarenesss is differant from the awareness of the attention. it more or less includes all of reality in one manifestation. this awareness surely is the buddha nature for in it is no time, no rushing, and no duality

How can I count if I haven't any time? A simple "yes or no" won't do, ality... unless I say, "so". And I left out the, "is that" part, in an effort not to waste that... um, I can't remember... Soap? |

the dog is black,
I am somewhere between the dog and the snow, on skis... looking down, looking up, looking in, looking out, looking forward, looking back. Between us, what we have in common, is looking out for each other. Plus, I wrote it in a song, just a verse between silence and sound.

There is no need to count. You are aware of each breath you take.Whether it is long, short, deep or shallow. You stay with each breath and remain mindful of each intake and each exhalation. Let nature take it course and you will definitely become aware and mindful. Buddha nature is there. |

ok, so much for snow fun, back to the bird paintings
I was thinking up a picture of a large smooth dark stone set in the middle of a deep blue lake, with a beautiful green mermaid sitting on it, with a tree growing from the stone... either way, all reaching up to a frosty blue heaven above

I had two tries and failed to go very far on my ski with dog today, another day off... but by the third attempt I had the spirit to conquer any conditions, and still be safe about it. It was so icy, so I used the poles to push myself about a mile, went half way up a hill and used the poles to slow me down. So it was a pole ski.
And did have some pretty vivid dreams last night. Pretty boring ones really, just me, in the dreams, and objects... I stole a van in my dream, but it was my dream, so I borrowed it, and brought it back.
Such a wind today. But I had to get out in it. I love being outside. Chopped a bunch more wood, though I really didn't need it. And picked a bunch of white pine cones up on a walk in the woods, was easier walking than skiing. I just love pine cones outside, or inside where I brought them back.

there is a self in the frontroom with a chawan full of pine cones picked up and given by the grandaughter... noticing them...
this morning while drinking a cup of water for my pills ... who is drinking... the water is drinking...but.... what for? |

On the walk today, couldn't ski too icy (but may still later), found pine cones still attached to their spruce green needled branches, then I looked up at the long line of trees along the way, and thought two things, although I only had one in my hand walking home with it and the dog, one was... " how different the pine cone is from the branch, but they are still firmly attached to each other in the same way ", and two, "Maybe I could find a better one." For the first thought I felt whole inside, and happily blessed. And for the second thought I just kept what had been given to me, not needing anything better than what I had picked up already.

the trees down the road feel alive...or something I quiet cannot discribe...like if to see the tree is to feel the tree...it felt good and nice... along the road was a big dog with a noticeable collar, orange?...not in the fence...and i worried it might get hit |

So I started to fix things today, and ended up in the bathroom. Don't ask me why I was in there, but found something needing fixing, so I made a small fix, then got started with this big fix, that took all my time this afternoon. I was fixing a cupboard door, which was warped, so I tried to reframe it with salvaged wood I got from and old cabinet I picked up out of the garbage. Yes, I do salvage, if I see wood being thrown out, I can't help but pick it out. It's like an addiction, even if I am tired, I still stop to pick. Anyway, I ended up almost entirely rebuilding the cabinet. And I was supposed to be working on something fun this afternoon.
Now I lost my point...
Oh yeah, as I was working back and forth from the garage to house, I had this idea that all things could be done this way... all things, done equally well. Every act can be done with the full intent of making it right again. That's all. Oh, I cleaned off the front deck. And the dog ran off to the neighbors, so I had to go get him across the icy snow in my clogs, so my feet got cold icy wet, the dog was all dry though, but confused, he'd never done that before. I thought... the whole day has been like this... this was "one of those days". But one of those days lends itself to all the other days when I get what I don't intend to, and work with it anyway.
