TOPIC: IN THE MIDST OF CHICKEN AND EGG/CHICKEN AND EGG IN THE MIDST OF. |
|
|
 |
Posted on Mar.06.2007 @ 04:40PM EDT by whatzen
Is there a difference between emptiness and fullness? One is the opposite of the other. Are they each illusions that provide the perpetuation of the other? Not emptiness and fullness and/or both emptiness and fullness are also illusion-- continuance of perpetuation. Beyond is merely a statement pointing to what?

Yet they are different to a human. Emptiness allows space to get back from it. To be able to circumvent the thing. To be able to observe it from all sides. To look through the layers and know the thing in terms of self. Fullness allows no space. MU
Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912), received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen.
Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor's cup full, and then kept on pouring.
The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. "It is overfull. No more will go in!"
"Like this cup," Nan-in said, "you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?"

Emptiness and fullness are boundless. The kingdom experience is not in the emptiness or fullness, but in the boundlessness.
One is full because one is empty. |

Full emptiness expresses the truth of human nature, shows that the meaning of suffering is realised in how the suffering is healed and is not an idea to debate. |

In order to grasp the spirit of words you have to let go of the words. Spirit changes the way one sees God who is in spirit and truth. A cultic relationship with God which turns God into a thing, a concept, a being among other beings has to be transcended. In a cultic relationship with God, one tends to flatter or placate an idol of God who one thinks may be kind one moment and vengeful the next. An ever new communion with God, in the nonduality of spirit, transcends this relationship of fear. The truth is what is. |

Ok, here's sumthin - Bhakti - sweet taste in head flowing down through body, sweetness - awareness of a being present in a presence - "Here I am" - hands coming up, clapping involuntarily, once - energy flowing up through body propelling into standing position and moving quickly to another part of the house laughing in a deep joy and forgiveness. Picking hens up and popping them back over a fence. |

Man, that education was boring, at one point my thoughts were on the other side of being programed. It just shut my thinking off from being "on task" to... I don't know, maybe it was just sitting there, all number-like, and I really had to take a shit, or just pass a big gasser. But shitting wasn't allowed during the class. Then I felt the energy rise to the top of my bald head, and prickly sweat beads formed. I was either being in my head or in my butt. But, at least I passed the exam.
So, somebody out there, and in there is watchin' out for me. But doin' more than just watchin'. 111111

IT is possible for nonduality realization to exist at all times, it just has different aspects.
Like right now, the sun is shining off the snow, too bright to look at comfortably.
and
I know of a Buddhist monk who lives in town, and I am thinking of calling him to get a picture of his prayer flags in front of his house, for a painting, but the sun has to be shining brightly, so I may go and visit him today.
But, I don't know... nonduality has no predictive absolutes as for attainment.

I was thinking that even subconscious "thought" is dual in nature and that only plane awareness is nondual, but plane awareness is not doing anything... so does it all hinge on self awareness? Ahaha, there's a fancy idea!! |

So, I had planned to give some information to a friend on a local yoga teacher who helps with all different types of people in various age ranges and health conditions. So I had the chance to give to someone who might benefit from yoga, this is what I felt. And right after I had given this information away to a person, I stopped in a local health foods store and was out in the car eating a healthy lunch when who should appear walking up to the store but the yoga teacher, herself. I had never seen her before to pick out in a crowd. So, by giving, the information, in the spirit of helping another, the universe was nodding... "yes". |

As I thought of the prayer flags I wanted to paint, I went looking for my friend to see how he was doing, but I really wasn't sure where he lived, so I went right past his house, but I did note the prayer flags in the front, and turned around and went back, pulled in the drive, and he came out to meet me. We spoke of connections, and things that bring people and events together, and I looked over everything around outside, and the wind connected with the prayer flags overhead moving them into my attention. And I thought how beautiful simplicity is. I stayed with him for about an hour talking out front, making an angel's wing pattern with my foot in the snow next to the walkway. I offered any help I could give him, from now into the future, then said a kind goodbye. I drove down the road towards home, it was 1:45, the speed limit was 45 mph, both at once I saw them. I thought... "That was meant to happen." |

So I take a break to go up front, and it has cooled off enough for another fire. Then I go out to get some more wood from the stack next to shed, but I stop first, standing on the covered deck and listen to the morning doves cooing to each other, the calls seemed so close from inside, but now I realized that there was more than one I heard, the songs seem to go on further and further into the woods, even beyond sound, into another realm. Even the dove's flight sounds like singing.
I go out to select some small wood pieces for the fire. And the crows are calling to one another, and I look up directly overhead as a crow flies over me, and I think, "oh if only we could talk the same, relate the same, is he flying here to see me directly below the way I see him directly above?"
Then...
I hear the sound of a jet, and see the trails behind, leading directly above me, as the crow flies over, they seem to cross, even to know of one another, in some distant way.
And tingling joy descends, mingled with a grateful, beautiful sadness of being alone, in all this, mystery.

Yes, acceptance is the absence of separation. And somehow numbers and times are involved, the lining-up underlying structure of things, that can't be grasped, without thanks as not coming from one's self as terminal ending/beginning. Analysis fails me, because I fail at analysis of more than just the basics. If I don't do much to help others and the world then I am just taken away, and making myself separate. |

A relationship between two people is transformed by the giving of a gift. Accepting the gift affirms the relationship - to receive is to give back to the giver - the separate roles are transcended and become united in nonduality. The gift opens a space of freedom beyond boundaries. |
