One day, when the brilliant Chinese Cha'n master Chao-chou was sweeping
the court of the monastery, a man asked him:
-Ch'an monastery supposed to be clean and pure. Why is there dust to sweep?
Chao-chou replied:
-It came... continue...

→→→→ vertical line TOPIC: STATUS AND "O"
vertical line Posted on Mar.15.2007 @ 08:58AM EDT by stephen

Stephen said “But complete freedom from all suffering will come only when one has broken free and transcended even that which we call goodness to become an Aryian, one who has transcended the worldly condition, and ultimately to become a fully perfected individual, an Arahant."

And “O” said: “There are several flavors of Buddhism. A common misunderstanding is that one can achieve some status above others. In such cases it is just one type of delusion that is substituted for another.”

This has always been an interesting point for me. Is the “status” of a fresh beginner different than an Aryian ? They both were born with a  Buddha nature, they both are on a path and they both seek. I would suggest they do not have a different status for they both see the same moon reflected in the pool. MU

ignorant state and enlightened state are different, however they have nothing to do with being a beginer or an experienced

I was actually talking about the perceived social status of a person

vertical line D T Suzuki was just talking when he wrote some words that went something like
"when one meets another, whom he deems equal in status and principle, he has met another fool."
or Kahlil Gibran, when he did write "when a man opens his mouth to speak he is no
longer content with his own thoughts"

there is no problem with the words one might say, if there is, we most likely manufacture
it ourselves, though should the plug be pulled on 90% of the amplifiers that do no more  than make a noise, there may be no need for a Kyoto  agreement today

vertical line In this medium of letters and lines of words by keys to screens the talking is of the silent kind that lives in thought and spirit making and unmaking forms at one with the beholding eye and is not requiring the opening of one's mouth as the prophet says:

"when you can no longer dwell in the solitude of your heart you live in your lips....let the voice of your voice speak to the ear of his ear..."

vertical line zbish dosn't have a brown filter so he cannot hear, see, or listen through one.
maybe, "reading musicing" got one of its own.

when he looks at the noise mankind calls music and sees not just its fragmented desired bloom, but the whole of it. From the aspiring young musicians with dreams of fame and wealth, to the toxic effects of its production and perpetual repetition that gives substance to the laments of the grieved concerned by global warming.

indeed when the voice of the voice speaks to the ear of the ear, none dwell in the heart and love blooms unthethered

It is so that I had that feeling or thought from reading Lehish's good-hearted posts. Whether or not it is true is not known. And it is only my opinion that it would be a good thing. So, I really cant fully answer your question.

rustic did just say what he saw.
zbish did just say what he saw.
music sought to neither deny or enhance the sound of the hand.
the tree in the backyard unfussed, and sees nothing wanting
that has needs of equality.

True nature is always elusive,
Only the heart of no-heart
can grasp-it.
Up in the mountain,
the burning jade stays brilliant.
And in the roaring furnace,
lotus blossoms keep their fragrance.
