TOPIC: BLUE CLIFF RECORD CASE 2 |
|
|
 |

what u all think about this case
Chao-chou teaching the assembly said: The Great Way is not difficult. Just avoid picking and choosing. As soon as words are spoken, this is picking and choosing. This is clarity. This old fellow does not abide within clarity. Do you still hang onto anything, or not?
At that time a certain student asked: Since you don't abide within clarity, what do you hang onto?
Chao-chou replied: I don't know either.
The student said: Since you don't know, teacher, why do you, nevertheless, say that you do not abide within clarity?
Chao-chou said: It's enough to ask about the matter. Bow and withdraw.
waiting for some real zendiped reply

There is a state of affairs that cocoons the mind and body: it is spoken of as the Buddha nature. As soon as you set out to describe it, you diminish it. You apply your attachments, delusions and anger to it. As Zooey told Farany if we talk about it we will lose it. MU |

That's right, in the state of the fair, in the hard front part of the coconut. And cocoons are there for protection and then to be broken out of, to facilitate metamorphosis, transformation. If you become stuck in the cocoon, it doesn't really matter whether you're a brave man. And who is Farany? |

No, it really doesn't matter whether you think you're a brave man, or you think you're a coward, when you think you are wrapped in a cocoon. |

'The Manipulator' commands you to develope awareness of your senselessness of humour or humor.
I'm switching you to Graham Norton, Channel 4 for your sins against me.

The ancient tale of the zen master Chochu may apply... Long ago, a monk, having run along side a river attempting to save a cat that was stuck on a log that was ragging down the river, stopped to catch his breath. The monk happened to stop on a grassy knoll by the river where Chochu, the zen master, was sitting quietly. Chochu inquired of the monk, "How far do you have to run in order to save the cat?" The monk replied, "I don't know, master!" The master then said, "well, you had better get going then." The monk instantly became enlightened. |

He came back after forgetting his wallet, and the pig snuck up from behind him and slobbered on his clean jeans. |
