TOPIC: REBIRTH |
|
|
 |
Posted on Apr.01.2007 @ 09:30AM EDT by zenbeatles
I have been troubled of late about rebirth. If you could help me in my understanding it would help me out alot.
These are my thoughts at this point:
The wave believes it is a wave, but it is water. Waves are born and die, but the water is eternal. If the wave realises it is water, it enters, or rather realises, the world of no birth and no death. But the water must return to the ocean, where else could it go? In the same way, enlightenment cannot stop the cycle of birth and death, but it stops the perception of birth and death. The water cannot vanish, so what birth and death is there to be brought to an end?
Sorry if that was way confusing, but im way confused myself.
Thanks alot if you can help.

Confusion is a word, not water. One is more water than word, so by being more one than the other, I do not think, as it is realized. |

Here is the problem. We like being individual waves. Our little breaks, curls and foam. We are different, we are unique, and we are special. We start small, built is size and then crash over the top, only to become an undertow. We are reborn in slack water. The path of enlightenment is the heat of wisdom, the lift of meditation and the evaporation of our Buddha Nature. We become that 0.001 percent of the total Earth's water volume residing in the atmosphere. We are still water, we are still part of the whole but our form, view and structure has changed. Many things appear different but are, in truth, just a different form. MU

ZenBeatles,
Just let your created waters break, its very fine, we're really free from the illusion of choice.
BTW, I remember you when you were just 4 nice young fellas from Liverpool.
Regards,
Harry.

Quote: "His waters are troubling troubled standing facing the entrance to his tomb. " .........
To illustrate one thing by its resemblance to another has been always the most popular and efficacious art of instruction. There is indeed no other method of teaching that of which anyone is ignorant but by means of something already known; and a mind so enlarged by contemplation and enquiry that it has always many objects within its view will seldom be long without some near and familiar image through which an easy transition may be made to truths more distant and obscure. --Samuel Johnson
Or
- He that voluntarily continues ignorance is guilty of all the crimes which ignorance produces, as to him that should extinguish the tapers of a lighthouse might justly be imputed the calamities of shipwrecks. --Samuel Johnson

zenbeatles, it is not like that. Neither it is any other way. All the explanations are wrong. As long as you are trying to explain and understand on the conceptual level, you just produce more rebirth. Whenever everything seams to fit, you have surely missed it.

and so there was all this speculation about the clouds and sky... like this:
sky does not bother cloud..
cloud does not bother sky
but sky is apart of cloud
and cloud is apart of sky
so when is it sky business and when it is cloud business?
when is it my business
and who asked when it was none of my business !!! ? |
