One day Yao-shan Wei-yen (750-834), one of the well-known Chinese Ch'an master, was asked by the host of the monastery to give his sermon to the assembly who for a long while was expecting his teaching. Yao-shan said: "Strike the bell."
It is hard for me to find someone where I live locally that would be a great friend/mentor in Zen Buddhism. So I figured perhaps I may be able to find one online. Just thought I'd put this out there...
Does anyone here work with a guru, spiritual coach, or mentor? Or do you just look to the Buddha for inspiration and learning?
any help you could gi ve me would be greatly appreciated.
