TOPIC: BAD KARMA AND EMPLOYMENT? |
|
|
 |

This is a interesting question for me that I could use some further insight answering. I've been offered a job as a driver for someone in the adult entertainment industry (stripping). Initially, I was excited by a new job with good pay. However, a friend pointed out to me that there may be bad karma associated with this work. At first I didn't think anything of this. My job would be to drive and then wait for the party to end. My resonsibility would be that of your typical 'bouncer' or 'bodygaurd'.
Personally, I've been to a strip club maybe twice. Both times I felt very disappointed with humanity. I went for one of my best friend's bachelor parties and once for my friend's 18th birthday some years ago. I highly doubt I will ever be there again.
So, is my presence with this job a negative thing? Is there bad karma associated with being a driver/bodygaurd for a stripper? I'm not sure but I'm looking for gurther insight from all of you. All help and guidance will be much appreciated.
As an important side note, I don't NEED this job or the money.

My responsibility would be that of your typical 'bouncer' or 'bodyguard'.
This would seem to be a reasonable and honorable employment. |

thanks for the responses so far.
The position itself does seem honorable. However, Does it matter that I'm transporting / protecting a stripper? Is being a stripper an honorable profession?
As for my statement regarding 'karma', I meant by accepting this profession, am I condoning the degradement of the human body and soul? Maybe that seems a little too deep, but isn't stripping and these types of parties less the honorable? I know Buddhist stances on sex, alcohol, and other mind altering drugs but I can't find a clear answer to the question of stripping and this industry as a whole...haha |

I think you will find the answer within yourself. Seek, and you will find it. |
