Sometimes I wonder, if there is not some purpose, some deeper purpose for everything, not just for me, but for all humans, animals... for all life, seen, and unseen.
In a certain unknown way, everything seems to connect, even thoughts connect with matter... back to something that matters most, that mattered most.
And if everything is important, even thoughts, thoughts that we have never listened to, then maybe there is a way, to face the pain, the suffering and death, differently, with deeper purpose, in working with a deeper purpose; connecting back to another's purpose, to each other's purpose for being, each thought's purpose for being.
Why for instance, do tears fill my eyes right now, if there is not some truth is seeing a difference? The eyes being washed out, from inside, the body/mind being cleansed, each by the other, for one another... it hurts, but feels good, to feel this - thoughts touching.

Even weakness can be seen as strength, but we are silent in observation, until the oneness arises, a totally different rhythm and story of it's own, we lose what was identity. |

And I don't know why numbers play a part in it, except for measurements, but free of object, or free of linear time and causality, the material.
But then there is the ethical side, the constructive/destructive elements... if my annoyance with something causes me to condemn, to diminish the "other", some bond is broken, if it is seen differently, every bond has a life around it, arising... but for a longer time than my intention.
My bond to others, to experiences which I may break, is part of the key which opens a much wider door in reality, as I become receptive, and find suffering to be in the largest extent - self-created, and limiting, confining and misinterpreted.
So, my concept of the good and bad gets flipped, and there is limitless freedom in this, this grand design of what I am waking up to. Weakness becomes strength, strength is in observation and awe with the connections with what didn't matter before.
I don't know if this fits Zen, but it may fit everything else.

Essentialy there is no good or bad. There is only Karma. Everything we are, everything we do is a set of conditions. Everthing is inherently empty ( see dependent origination). We are here, because of conditons. The way we think is caused by conditioning. The way we live our lives is caused by conditions ( Karma combined with learning). The only escape is to break the 12link chain of Karma. This is the aim of Buddhism of which Zen is a part. Once one starts craving for feelings and sensations, this continues the grip of Karma. Some ask," So I'm not supposed to have any sensations or feelings", this is not so only the craving of these feelings and sensation is the cause of problems. |

I am not so sure feeling is inappropriate, I too cry and feel, mostly for others and the human existence, not in a way which is sorrowful but a way which is grateful and seems natural. I guess I do because I do, no more explanation or thought is needed. I am not sure I could explain it any better than that. Reading this again it seems similar to what woods has just said 'mechanical' |
