A monk came to say good bye to Ch'an master Niaowo (Bird's Nest). He said:
-Thank you, Sir, for everything you've done for me. Now I got to go.
-Where will you go?
-Any place where I can learn Buddha dharmas.

on Christmas Eve in the morning
They lighted in the road and played pass the sloe for minutes, before one stepping forward, and with a little bow, said, "I am the Crow of Christmas Past." A second, too, skipping forward, and with a nod, said, "I am the Crow of Christmas Future." Together,the pair stepping back with a flourish, and in unison saying, "This is the Crow of Christmas Present", who shimmying forward, cocked his head and not making a sound, saying, "Cock-a-doodle-doo."
