→→→→ vertical line TOPIC: LOOKING AT THE SUN
vertical line Posted on Jan.14.2008 @ 09:32PM EDT by chontri
Suppose there is a man who'd like looking at the sun, wherever he goes, he keeps looking for the sun and looks at it.

When he found the sun and looked at it - whatever kind of the sun it is - what else would he do?

Should he keep looking at the sun all the time or look at something else which exists on this earth?

If he keeps his eyes toward the sun all the time, does he see anything else except for the sun?

If he keeps doing so non-stop at all, some day his eyes will not be able to see anything at all, even the sun.

Therefore, if he wants to see anything else he should turn his back to the sun and he will see the Wholeness of Life on this earth.

when i meditate i focus on my breathing...........allness is there.......its bascially awareness of my immedite surroundings,,,,,my thoughts,,,,ect.

surely you dont suggest focusing on allness though?

to me allness happens automatically. it is our basic awareness.

anyway.......thanks for the reply chontri.

vertical line Basic awareness? Another contradiction in terms - awareness is never basic. And a word to the wise, don't stare at the sun kiddies. If you do, you will get horribly burned.

vertical line By the way, sorry, but a "free mind" is an impossibility. Mind can never be free, that's it's nature - to be the trap and the rat.

Of course, you can every time you'd like.  It's called the Right of Freedom to answer or not to answer any question posted here in this forum.  There is no liability to answer or not to answer, at all.

vertical line I hope this person. When looking at the sun. Is looking with the eyes of compassion. And sees all the world with the eyes of compassion. My the sun shine on his life. And bring him to find his home and self in the path he is on to fine at looking to free his self from the suffering he carrys in his heart. Look not to the sun but to your self to see the sun shine. vertical line Hope is for hopers, hoping for something. What a thing it is to be in the world with nothing, but not for whingers, whiners and questioners with problems who turn to the others who make it their business, who when they're not being stroked and patted by the others' business, turn their attention to the perceived suffering of someone else, so they can shine once more in the sun - the classic passive-aggressive personality.

You're too desperately serious so I can't take you seriously.
