TOPIC: OBJECT, MIND AND IDEA |
|
|
 |
Posted on Jan.15.2008 @ 07:03PM EDT by chontri
When an object does not intend to be in the field of perception of the mind; and the mind does not intend to come to the object to perceive it. But the object is perceived by the mind through the senses, And an image or an impression would be left on the mind, This is called "idea" or the seed of thought.
The "idea", therefore, did not come into being by itself as an entity. It did not come from the object itself It did not come from the the mind itself, either. If there were no object, then there would be no idea left on the mind. If there were no mind, then there would be no idea of the object, either.
If one holds on some idea and takes it as some meaning of the object, tightly and long, then the meaning of it wouldn't be established by far.
Why would one hold on ideas too tight and too long?

Mind / No-Mind are concepts. When consciousness isn't going out to an object, there are no either / ors; their is neither simple nor complex; there is only awareness, which you can call Buddha nature, Christ consciousness, no-mind, et al. |

To talk about mind, object, senses, ideas and thoughts is all at the level of separation - not much better than any other theory.
Perceiving us as mind with "Buddha nature" in the background clouded by thoughts in the foreground may seem a sensible basis of Buddhism, but it is not.
It should be enough to say just Buddha nature or still better - give no name

Oh, anything. I am just pointing out that the so called Buddha -Nature can't be explained with any combination of mind object interaction. The wisdom is not in the doctrine.
Talking is nice, thanks for talking. |

Empty space is a construct of your theoretical understanding. |

This whole edifice of a thread, with many more besides, and complete with lehish momentos is nothing other than theoretical understanding. Anything else, the intellect shies away from. |
