From now on I'm not eatin' , 'em. So then I can praise more left out! Or raise more. Fandangle doughnuts!!
And by the way shaynee, belief is not without hope in knowing the unknowable, the wordless, extending throughout all seen and unseen domains, of which this is also a part of the unknowing known. Ah, yeah... One needs no belief if it transcends logic. And that, is a whole lotta unknown stuff, to the knowing no better than logic. Feeling is not believing, moving without thought, but is a nondependent arising .

Unless you want to die screaming instead of laughing you better make it a commitment to find the truth for yourself HERE and NOW.
But before you go of looking just know that what you are looking for IS what is looking.
If you cant find the truth where you are where do you expect to find it?
Keep looking until you know absolutely for yourself that there is no self to find.
The only thing worth knowing is who you really are.
Drink this water and you'll never be thirsty!
With a guarantee like that why would you wait?
BUT I HAVE THINGS TO DO! I've gotta finish this assignment, then I have to go pick up dinner, then I was planning on catching a movie with some friends, and we'll get ice cream after that but then there will be that ~bloaty feeling~ then i'll go for a walk to get rid of that, and then I'd better go to sleep because I have to start looking for a job early in the morning, and another, and another, one after the other--until : ( i'm already 50 years old and there are so many things I wish I had done! Look at what a horrible person I've been-- I'll turn my life around tomorrow.
Why are you so unhappy? Because 99% of everything you think and everything you do is for yourself--and there isn't one.
You might not even make it to 50 and you might not make it another day or week or year.
What do you need that you don't have already?
If you don't have it now you'll never have it.
Pardon the foul language

Good post.
The fear of death is a daily practice, in that changes which occur are gradual wake-up calls where we can see fear arise and exist in continual patterns, without having to either deny or complain it away into worthlessness. But fear has to be experienced, to get anywhere else with, but stuck in old patterns of denial and abuse. We abuse others as we abuse ourselves through the lack of will power to see death as anything less than transformational, or of fear remaining solid and not as one way of arising "out of" another in peace.

We empty our minds of harmful suffering, and look to do no wrong, as we face the light of awareness, qualified in the simplicity of being, sharing, and being kind to all, and listening, to each and every sound. It is so much about listening, and feeling, being free of bondage to thoughts of rejecting our true self - which is love. |

Well, it requires no decision on my part, other than opening up to love, rather than closing down through a blindness of my choice, to everything which has ever arisen out of it. And we cannot take in a literal application of universal truth, for it to be alive, all around our decisions to awaken from meaninglessness. |

I agree, happiness is a simple thing.
It's all to do with our use of language: if only we didn't speak, we wouldn't have developed our right brains so much - our right brains being the source of negative emotion.
But most of what is posted here is all fancy: no one can actually be enlightened. |

What's all to do with our language? Most of the time you don't understand a word I write.
Language in that sense becomes a means by which to talk yourself into thinking you want to be happy, can be happy, will be happy, and are happy when you think you are happy and not happy when you think you're not happy.
Right brain, left brain - a convenient shorthand labelling assisting academic theories about the psychology and evolution of humans and the what/where of the controller and the controls.
Emotion is emotion, negative or positive, so what?
Most of what is posted here i "all fancy", you fancy. "Actually enlightened" as opposed to 'what' enlightened? |

My word! Happiness is a word!... No. It's the integral of emotion over time. It's quantitatively real.
What's all to do with our language? Most of the time you don't understand a word I write.
It's your darn mental prism. I just can't get into that.

Yeah, I guess all doze scientists aren't being very objective... We'll just have to wait until they find your truth: Sure, there's no free will, but something is working.
Emotion is emotion, negative or positive, so what?
No poop. But the emotion is the 'so what', no?
Most of what is posted here i "all fancy", you fancy. "Actually enlightened" as opposed to 'what' enlightened?"
I guess that's where Shayne's comment about "the attention" comes in. Minimalistic enough to be plausibly practical... or something. |

Quantitatively real? Integral of emotion over time? Sounds like an equation to me. Anyway, show us it, some of it, as much as you like. Happiness is a by-product.
Worrying about getting into [another] mental prism isn't possible or advisable and is only you worrying about getting out of the one you're already in.
You won't have to wait for any scientist to find what you call 'your truth'.
I'm not interested in your guesses.
Next.

The inalienable right of men to pursue their happiness, by which is meant, any lawful business which increases their prosperity, thereby creating unhappiness and so interfering with the inalienable right of men to pursue their happiness by which is meant the desire to possess what you can, by whatever means necessary. |

so you'll believe rustic when science proves it?
dont just say sure, see through your own beliefs and investigate
resolve to find the truth HERE and NOW
?
WHY WOULD YOU CLUCKING WAIT?
if it is not found now it will never be found
you'll be dead by the time science finds out unless you find out for yourself. and even if science finds it and you still havent found it, you'll still die
and science cant find it and if they do find it they wont publish it because that will be the end of their science
read each line 3x slowly investigate yourself until there isn't one

Quantitatively real? Integral of emotion over time? Sounds like an equation to me. Anyway, show us it, some of it, as much as you like.
Words, equations, word-equations. Why do we ever even bother speaking?
Happiness is a by-product.
You thung it [and you said one couldn't]! But now I'm quibbling............
Worrying about getting into [another] mental prism isn't possible or advisable and is only you worrying about getting out of the one you're already in.
I'm not really feeling the worry. You're basically telling me that I'm 'just jealous' and your post is lacking any real (ie. objectifiable) critique.
I'm not interested in your guesses.
Only because you have made your own.
But... if 6 was 9. |

So, first you can't get into my 'darn mental prism', now you're so far into my mind you're telling me what you say 'I'm basically telling you' which is, it may be harsh to learn for you, complete fantasy on the part of your mental processes. And "jealousy", to up the competitive ante, I mean, jealous of what, jealous of you or something else you can come up with? Incidentally, a mind prism [your mental prism], isn't something you can get into - it's a metaphor for the way in which the mind filters and splits, in the same way a prism splits invisible light into a spectrum of 7 colours. As for guesses, well I don't guess about things. There's things I have knowledge of, intellectually, like the difference between 6 and 9.
ps - I don't click your links. |

I've just this minute, almost, just that minute, cancelled just in time, an appointment with an officer with full identification from the Office of National Statistics who would like to spend 20 or so minutes in my company, asking a number of questions, the answers to which, may, he says, influence governmental policy in the future. |

... odd. Wouldn't expect so much from you.
And "mental prism"... Is that supposed to be more well defined than "human consciousness" (the 'human' part essentially implying the natural separations)?

All guesses? Mentally no difference between 'doubtless faith' and 'knowledge'. Either way, I'd say, if anything, western science defines what is what: not philosophical and sentimental ranting. |

What's odd is that you should expect anything from me.
"Mind prism" is only a metaphor - it isn't "more well defined" than anything else.
If you think that "western science defines what is what" then you're the definition western science is looking for. However, I don't see western science as the diametric opposite of "philosophical and sentimental ranting" which appears to be a conflation for the purposes of argument in the philosophical and not sentimental sense. So maybe you should talk to Shayne.
