TOPIC: USELESS |

Hey y'all
You know, I just popped in to see what was goin down in the old zenforum...s'been a while you see :-)
But it got me thinking, Poor Monks post. My sitting got rusty...then non-existent...Enquiry and meditation ceased. Some kind of realisation made me lazy - I then just thought 'What's the point?'. There was nowhere to go, nothing to do. I wanted something...was chasing something...then realised there was nothing to find.
Please - what is the point to sit? To enquire?

Sitting has no status attached to it, nothing to accomplish, and thoughts flow in and out like through an open door, but we tend to close it. It is opened again when we reflect on everything around us as containing a lesson, as having a relationship to us, more than our thoughts and denial. We sit through the pain of separation from the true identity of being connected to all, just as sitting, so sitting becomes action without thoughts. |

I asked the book The Art of Just Sitting.
It has a point, but to say you got the point be.. missing the point
Books are helpful

With sitting, laying or standing, one can use thoughts less, and in that find peace through mindfulness. |

The point of sitting is immediate experience of what is all there is, right there and then, and not something you would have to practice for years in order to achieve some kind of transformation. |

The point of sitting is to find the point. to concentrate the mind. sitting also lowers blood pressure. sitting is also used to realize their is nothing to grasp.that the immediate is all their is. this now.
but their is also a time to contemplate when sitting,
above all dont wooble.
when sitting contemplate.
when sitting dont contemplate.
to have a keen mind that can contemplate is good. to have a keen mind that can think is good. thinking is part of reality.
also sitting affects the state of mind. |

not or. or signifies an exception. you accept everything.
listen and contemplate.
its ok to contemplate.
two extremes.
on one hand you have contemplation. on the other you dont.
balance is the key.
sometimes you contemplate. sometimes you dont. |

yeah, equally... that's why we exist
And now, the fun begins. Of course at times it doesn't feel that way, but it's the transition, stepping out of a rigid set of rules that brings life in, to every moment.
I'm just blabbing.
I'm shavin' all my hair off!!!
