If you want to know the past,
to know what has caused you,
look at yourself in the present,
for that is the past's effect.

If you want to know your future,

to be light. to be free from viscous cycles or patterns of thought and attention.

a free mind is a powerful mind.

to be able to see in any direction.

to look where no one else looks.

their is truth.

discover it for yourself.

in the immeditate now of course.

to not be attached too.

I remember once a scene in a movie where an old man was telling a young man that most people go through life clinging to a pole as if their lives depended on it, as if a stiff wind might blow them away at any moment.

And he said that people who let go of fear could let go of the pole, and then they wouldn't need it anymore, and they would be free.

Becoming unattached is letting go of the pole.

vertical line Interesting. A post post-modernity existentialist poster. I can dig it shayne. Why don't we post our emails here? Publish and be damned, I say. The nihilists are all going to hell here anyway.

vertical line There are a lot of positivistic, new age philosophy out there.. I personally can't relate to them but I know people who like those things because it makes them feel good about themselves.. although the effect don't seem to last very long.
There is nothing special, mystical or profound about enlightenment, it may feel that way to some people because they have forgotten their true nature. It's like a sick men who becomes healthy for the first time.. he might feel amazed at how he can move his body freely at first, but after couple of days he won't even be thinking about it at all, after all, he just returned to his normal state of health, nothing special.

vertical line How nihilistic are the nihilists when they come face to face with Sam Colt? Not many, if any, I'd wager.
