vertical line We do. But not these bodies and not these minds. That part is an illusion. We play hide and seek with ourselves. And I’m getting tired of this game. Come out! Come out! Wherever you are! I know you’re there!

what creates is the same question as what hears.

i dont believe we create ourselves............not in the first sense.

we create our own reality if you may.

money for example is a creation of ours we accept as fact.

but what hears?

me is a word.

i is a word.

if you get rid of words and use defiantions.....what hears?

the sum of all our parts.

paying attention to the breath something still hears sounds.

what is it?

we hear sounds regardless if we pay attention or not.

we aware the world wether we like it or not.

it is the sum of all our parts.

the awareness.

and this has nothing to do with the focus or the attention.

it is that which sees. hears. feels and tastes all at once.

.........

I remember when I did not exist.  Nor anything else, no time, no space, just the 'one awareness' that was experiencing 'nothingness'.

Its not a place I went to, this 'Void' I call home.  Its something I remembered being.  I remember creating time and space, and with them eternity and infinity.  I could feel them like my arms and legs.  And countless planes of existence.  And myself.

And  now that I exist, I know that 'one awareness' as myself, but not the me I know as 'me', so now it seems like a separate entity.  I suppose it is, since it is the Creator and I am the Created.

We are one, It and I but not one in the same, vis a vis.  I look in the cosmic mirror and see a different face than my own.  But that is just a way of talking, since there is no such face to see.

I love that 'one awareness' more than anything.  Is that narcisism?  Or is it as the Moody Blues sang, "The truth is hard to handle.  That's what the wall of love is for."

Logic is the largest obstacle on the path to self-awareness.  But once you have self-awareness it is very simple in its logic, and you see it all around you.

1 = ?    How many expressions are possible for the right side of this equation?

vertical line Patterns of thought call for repetition , like a child calling for the mother. The baby does not consider anything other than having it's needs met, and will use every ploy to gain confirmation of self. And the pattern of need/dependency expands on in time, even beyond cause and effect into the next cycle of birth and death. Where we are all at, is between two things... getting needs met through repeated processes, or giving from a source of patterning that is more subtle but stripped of the more excessive demands of a rotting ego. The subtle patterning occurs if we open to it, if we have been broken to the core of dependency, which in itself opens us to fear of death, death being the ultimate loss of ego's control during this cycle, as it was before, and before... to the point where it first came into being prior to dualistic thinking which separated one from another. In truth, we are all still connected, beyond space and time.

Well said! And too often awareness is mistaken as a 'listener', and mistaken with attention.

But as Toni Packer said, "There is no need for awareness to turn anywhere. It's here! Everything is here in awareness! When there is a waking up from fantasy, there is no one who does it. Awareness and the sound of a plane are here with no one in the middle trying to "do" them or bring them together. They are here together! The only thing that keeps things (and people) apart is the "me"-circuit with its separative thinking. When that is quiet, divisions do not exist."

Joan Tollifson ('student' of Toni), "This open being is not something to be practiced methodically. Toni points out that it takes no effort to hear the sounds in the room; it's all here. There's no "me" (and no problem) until thought comes in and says: "Am I doing it right? Is this 'awareness?' Am I enlightened?" Suddenly the spaciousness is gone—the mind is occupied with a story and the emotions it generates."

p.s. any way to edit posts in here? the forum doesn't seem to have this feature.
