One day, Chang-sha Ching-tsen (d. 868), one of the well-known Chinese Ch'an masters, wandered in the mountain. When he was back just at the gate of the temple, the head monk asked him:
-Where have you been, Sir?
As Alan Watts would say, most of us have been heading North all our lives. What would happen if we decided to go South, East or West instead? I think it would be much the same thing, conflict and suffering, just in a different direction. Then he asks what would happen if we just stopped. ………. I used to think I was on a path. Then I realised I was the path. So my journey came to an end right there.

Anything I need to learn from now on can come to me from without or within. I’m here.
