  Once upon a time in a very nice city of ancient India, there were five blind young men were living together and getting along very well. They could share together many things they acquired materially and mentally. They could shared each other... continue...

vertical line Posted on Oct.22.2008 @ 10:48AM EDT by shayne

i have respect for atheists for they approach life from a very real and substantial form of thought.

no sight of god so god dont exist.

that simple.

no soul.

cant be seen.

now ask me if i think differantly?

i do.

to an extent.

almost a athiest....was before.

but just almost.

What is an athiest??????????????

What is the opposite of an athiest????????? A non-athiest??? A goddist????

The word athiest only exists or means something to certain people only. It comes about because it is assumed that there is a god, so therefore the question, do you believe or not.

If you dont believe you are an athiest, but If you do believe, what are you???

Probably righteous!!!!????###

If instead it was assumed that there is not a god, and you were asked if you believe or not, and you answered yes, what would you be???

And then from that standing, if you did not believe, what would you be then?

So obviously its all a non-sensical game of pin the tail on the donkey wherever one sees fit, whilst the whole time it is not realized that the tail pinners and the donkey are in the one moving picture. REALITY.

The truth is that you are real. All is real. This is reality. You are reality.

I am a 'Realist'. Thats all.

REALIST.

I am a Zen Buddhist Monk.  That is the life I have chosen, although I do not live in a monastery, or observe all the rituals, I am dedicated to Buddha and the path of self-discovery.

I meditate for several hours daily.  Not all at once.  A little bit here, a little bit there.  I can meditate just about anywhere.  I could meditate on a park bench next to a construction worker operating a jackhammer.

Philosophically, aside from religion, I would have to say that I am an Experientialist.  My view is that what you experience is real, even if only to you.  If you feel cold you are cold.  If you feel hot you are hot.  No matter what the actual temperature is according to the thermometer.

Experientialism is sort of like an Existentialism, except that I believe that everything is under the control of Buddha, whereas Existentialism holds the individual responsible for everything.

Essentially the Existential view is that nature has dropped you in behind enemy lines and its up to you to get back without any help from outside sources.

From a practical standpoint there is not much difference between the two.  Except that in existentialism the individual is paramount, and in experientialism the individual is an illusion.

Eventually through meditation the mind observes and realizes the insight that the truth is that there is no truth, and that life is about being rather than physicality, because in truth there is no physical reality, just the current manifestation of energy, whether in meditation, dreams, or life, or death.

Its all the same thing in the same place all the time, which is always Now.

Whether this current manifestation of energy is random chance or by intelligent design of a cosmic consciousness is the only relevant argument between aethists and theologians.

In Moment-to-Moment Observation Requires Total Awareness Links

of dependent origination:

When this is, that comes to be;

With the arising of this, that arises.

When this is not, that does not come to be;

With the cessation of this, that ceases.
