Gudo was the emperor's teacher of his time. Nevertheless, he used to travel alone as a wandering mendicant. Once when he was on his way to Edo, the cultural and political center of the shogunate, he approached a little village named Takenaka.... continue...

vertical line I was called a prince by a patient last night, just refuse to apply any meanness to the practice of nursing, or relating to the staff who are mean, loud and generally selfish. Everything is equal, in silence where I don't speak, unless asked. Was given a native American gift last night too, which I then gave to others in my family, it was some written thoughts that one really has to hear free of judgment to hear.

vertical line The gunslinger looked at Mahem.

"Gr attitude?"
"Yes, yes! U must show more gratitude for life, that pleases the Goods!"

The young boys face took on an sincere adult look.

"My Grandfather, Ajiin, told me that! He was very wise. It is written in the Quang he said, it says something like- nobody likes ungratefull people, and least of all the Gods."

The boy got quiet, as if he was trying to remember the actual wording of the text, eyes looking dazed at the ground.

"Eeehh... Anyhow, thats why you must be careful to always remember giving thanks for life! Oh, and never to think bad about it!"

The boy held up his finger with an almost comical-serious look as to emphasize this last.

"See, if I catch myself thinking bad about, well anything, I always try thinking of why I am thankful, happy stuff, things like like mom, punslabh rolls, my dog, Shonga and stuff like that. And I am always quick to apologize to the Gods for my lack of gratefullness!
It is important, it is our own, and only our own responsibility to stay in favor of the Gods That is the most important thing Ajiin said. He said no sermon, offering, prayer, or ritual can do so anything for me staying in favor if I am not grateful. It is like how one would react onself if someone would scorn and dislike a gift that you made them with much hard work. You would not like that person, and so is the Gods, is it not right?"

The gunslinger got caught of guard.

"Eh, well, sure.. "

He was not sure what the question was, if any.

"I rather believe there is one God, or something, I think. I`ve not heard of this Qsomething book you told of, And I kinda have no relation to my own God I guess. I`m in no need of any favor of him. He stay out of my way, and I`ll stay out of his I guess I can say."

The boy got an puzzled, insulted look.

"I don't believe you mister. You never speaks to the Gods? I mean, you're God?"

"Nope, my God take care of himself without help, and I take care of my self without help my friend."

The gunslinger looked smilingly at the boy as he said this, a better fraze came to mind, my God takes care of those that take care of themselves, it sounded cooler, but the other words were already said so he let it go.

The boy looked almost hurt now.

"Well, what do you do then?"

The gunslinger did not like the way tis conversation was going, the boy seemed rather upset by his responds.

"Eh, do? I don`t get it?"

"To stay in favor of the Gods, I mean, you do some ritual? Have some amulet? Magic?

"To stay in favor of the Gods? I don't`t do anything I`ve said. I need no favors from anybody, whats the big deal about that?"

The boy looked puzzled and disappointed.

"I`ve told you my secret mr. Not many know of the importance of being grateful to the Gods, I shared this with you. Ajiin said this was tenfolds more powerful than even the thomba stone. And you just came in from the Deity passes. Nobody ventures theres, or have entered here Trough those passes ever before mr., but you did?"

"Guess I was lucky to make it here. Look, when I was complaining about being here I only..."

The boy broke off the gunslinger mid sentence.

"Lucky? This is the only source of water in the whole of the Gomjajh desert! And you randomly stumbled upon us, trough the Deity passes by having luck?

Anger and resentment filled the boys eyes.

You are ungrateful! You pay them no respect, and still they like you!?"

"Guess so.."

The gunslinger knew instantly it was probable not a good reply, but he was getting tired of this topic, he had no secret tip for gaining any God favours or any magic enchantments to give this boy.

The Boy looked at him with contempt, eyes starting to cry.

"My father died in those passes, yet the Gods favor you!??"

The boy then turned and ran away.

This boy would later come to mind whenever he taught of his journey trough the stretch of land the boy the called Deitys passes. He could not remember clearly how he got to the village, he was pretty dehydrated and feverish in the end. He was pretty sure he`d not called out for any God favors or any of the sort. He had been hallucinating, and it had felt like he was going in and out of dreaming and wake state all the time.
In the end he was conscious of everything being hallucination, yet he knew he was hallucinating and kept on. He could not remember much after this point, more like a dream, garbled fragments of thoughts, hallucinations, and this uncertain feeling that someone kept calling on him, always behind the next dune, always behind the next dune.

(Yeah, me too think this story sucks, if it was bad reading it, try writing it!:)

As someone was heard to remark: “if is imagined 'different-same', it will maybe seem there's 'paradox'” and “instead”.

The drum listening is the drum speaking in rhythm - heart tuning to the infinite pitch, a vibration in harmony.  When an instrument is tuned to perfect pitch there is no need to play music on it.
