One day, a monk traveled into the mountain where Gensha Shibi resided
to see the Zen master and study Zen with him. The monk said to Gensha:
-I am a new comer, please be kind to tell me where I can enter the Zen gate.
Gensha... continue...

→→→→ vertical line TOPIC: SANDTRAPS
vertical line Posted on Oct.30.2008 @ 04:53AM EDT by immortal 1

In meditation we open our minds and find a lot of things there.  Over time we pare them away.  But at first it seems that there is a part of the mind that does not want us to progress along our path.

Many people, if not all people, who meditate will encounter what I call sandtraps of the mind.  These are delusions of greatness, or power, that seem very real.  But if you buy into them you go no further along your path until you get out of them again.

Like "walking on water"?

Things are simpler for me. Drugs, sex, money. Y'know, the wholesome things in life (ie: the ones that almost always directly trigger the pleasure receptors). Why would I be joking? ;)

I have enjoyed drugs too.  Not much since the 70s.  Just grass since then.

I would like to go to Mexico and participate in a Mitote.  With peyote.

Could be a neat vacation plan.  Maybe I could check into some group rates and we could all go.

Never done that, but it sounds interesting. I think the best part of dreaming is losing control (so, lucid dreaming doesn't look so hot to me).

Ritualistically/spiritually, I've heard (some) good things of Iboga.
