→→→→ vertical line TOPIC: FEAR
vertical line Posted on Jan.23.2009 @ 06:46PM EDT by Woodsman
It is so big, to face with anything else but humility and respect. Using anger, and rejection, ignorance of not really caring to listen, wanting to put myself first does no good, but does harm. So, I take on a kind of demeanor, of acceptance, which I am not use to in myself, of what is not easily let go of, for me, for anyone. And I tremble inside.

vertical line Fear is the longing not to be hurt; the craving not to suffer misfortune; the yearning not to be contingent.

vertical line And that is just so beautiful.....to face fears, acknowledge, struggle, humble oneself. Seems the biggest challenge. Fear takes hold everywhere, and somehow needs to be overcome to unblock the dam holding back love and acceptance.Trembling in the face of fear I so admire.

vertical line The fear keeps us alive, far past the consequent time chosen by our lack of depth to go through our suffering voluntarily. We remain fixed in the animal world of separateness, creating nothing but more suffering, that we deny. We find silence unsettling... stillness, to be, as unwelcome as death. We are machines that make comment,  but without content that would free us from what we cannot create of fear's loneliness.  We try and fill the void, what cannot be avoided.

. . .work out your own salvation with fear and trembling . . .

Living life in constant awareness of my mortality, allows me to see the source of the trembling.

Finite limits, boundaries, the apparent absurdity of life, the effort of the individual coming to nought, perpetuates a fear of my mortality and fosters a feeling of being divided within myself.

Instead of searching for perfection where all pain and suffering is eradicated, if I face the boundless and unlimited, this fear may free me from fear.
