In silence and darkness

there is a peace

yet a lantern shines through

sooo warm

reverence and prayer

is supposed to be a womans way

through love

not meditation

drowning

sitting here on the first rung

like a fool

the cart is before the horse

combined with compassion

to confuse

maybe mind toys

maybe not

We tell ourselves everyday that we need things.

And if we do not, then advertisers will certainly do so, tell us that we need their product.

Woman have been told since birth that they have to be a certain way and do certain things for other people, and most accept these things without question.

Men are a bit more pragmatic.  You have to prove to them that they have obligations, and then present real consequences if they do not fulfill them.

Consider your needs.  Are they real?  Which are unmet?

Maslow's hierarchy of needs

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This diagram shows Maslow's hierarchy of needs, represented as a pyramid with the more basic needs at the bottom.[1]

Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology, proposed by Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper A Theory of Human Motivation,[2] which he subsequently extended to include his observations of humans' innate curiosity.

Maslow studied what he called exemplary people such as Albert Einstein, Jane Addams, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Frederick Douglass rather than mentally ill or neurotic people, writing that "the study of crippled, stunted, immature, and unhealthy specimens can yield only a crippled psychology and a crippled philosophy."[3]

Maslow also studied the healthiest one percent of the college student population. In his book, The Farther Reaches of Human Nature, Maslow writes, "By ordinary standards of this kind of laboratory research... this simply was not research at all. My generalizations grew out of my selection of certain kinds of people. Obviously, other judges are needed."[4]

vertical line Maslow studied particular individuals with certain attributes (neurotics, in my opinion) and then showed that they had certain attributes... Excellent work. Definitely scientific and definitely worthy of the attention his little triangle still gets these days.

Like defining fittest (in "survival of the fittest")... but with no backing in natural processes.. Maslow: Because we all want to be ("highly motivated") pretentious elitists devoted to attaining 'nominal' titles... ;)

I believe that the only worthwhile pursuit in life is happiness.

If where you are, or what you are doing, is not contributing to happiness, then some other arrrangements should be sought.

Honor is good.  Being a prisoner of honor is not good.

If one is committed to an arrangement that does not add more happiness to the world then that is not a noble pursuit.

"Sorry I have been unable to respond. I think the bottom line is that when everyday lifestarts spinning out of control, simplicity becomes so far away and all Ive thoughtIveunderstood and was living and feeling, was gone and a joke.So trying to remind myself with all this, looking for insight, can create its own noise and take away from it.If Im honest with myself it is something to hold on to.Still trying to hold on to something.

Consider your needs.  Are they real?  Which are unmet?I say "supposed" because it is not my experience, but rings true for me. Women mostly follow a different path. I was relieved to hear that from an enlightened person.Otherwise it made me feel almost crazy with a lack of relating to a more diciplined meditative practise.
