Let me tell you about the middle path.

Dressing in rough and dirty garments, letting your hair grow matted,
abstaining from eating any meat or fish, does not clean the one who is deluded.
Mortifying the flesh through excessive... continue...

→→→→ vertical line TOPIC: NEWTON VS EINSTEIN
vertical line Posted on Mar.13.2009 @ 09:47AM EDT by immortal 1

Isaac Newton was Albert Einsteins hero, but still it was necessary for Einstein to disprove Newtons idea about gravity.

Newton pronounced that gravity was a force by which the Earth pulled and held things to it.

Einstein, having more information to work with thanks to Newton and others, proved that actually gravity is a force present in outer space that causes smaller objects to be pushed toward larger objects.  So we are pushed against the Earth, just as the Earths orbit around the Sun grows continually smaller as it is pushed toward the Sun.

For a long time people learned Newtons view and knew about gravity, and now people have learned Einsteins view and know about gravity.  I only know that there is such a thing as gravity.

The question of what it is or what it is not remains open, subject to change with new information.

Ok, I'm going to go a bit left field here. Probably nothing you have read before but here goes it.... =)

We are the same as fire or the burning core of a sun...

We burn, we are atoms etc consuming what we hold (including ourselves) and our potential. Our existence is impossible without the energy of the burning sun. The earth is but another sun, crusted and cooled by the elements upon it and with all planets we are slowly burning away.

Like fire which can continue with other ignitable fuel, we can only live by consuming other life forms and if you trace life forms back to where they get their energy you arrive at the sun.

We are sophisticated flames, fuelled by what we consume..............

Once the entire universe has burned / transformed energy into dissipated energy in space, well, I don't know what happens next...

Perhaps it re-groups in to another form for billions of years and eventually is so dissipated that nothing exists except a mind,...

Maybe it collapses upon itself and there is another big bang and it all starts over again...

But one thing is certain.. The universe exists... so always has been, and that my friend is unconscionable...

Nothing is permanent except the thing Itself.

This universe is just another plane of existence, like countless others.

Shayne is absolutely right.  No one should listen to me and follow what I say.

What I say is just what I say.  It is from me, but that does not mean that it is for you.

Listening to me is not for you.  I write here for me, not for you.  I read here for me, not for you.

What is for you must come from you.  That is what zazen is for, so you can find out what is from you for you.
