I foresaw and planned for economic collapse about 20 years ago.  I moved to the remote Olympic Peninsula from DC and bought some real estate.  I figured that would be a safe investment because I can live on it, in it, or rent it, and because those who are collapsing the economy, on purpose, also own real estate and they therefore have to protect my investment in the process of protecting their own.

The reason that I foresaw the economic collapse is that Baby Boomers are now coming into retirement age.  The Social Security money had already been stolen by Congress, and Pres Clinton had just announced a plan to *borrow* 401K money the same way, with Treasury Bills.  Thats just an IOU from the Govt.  Worthless.  I figured that when Baby Boomers were due to retire, the Govt would have two choices:  Crash the economy to conceal their theft, or admit that they stole the money.

So now the economy will crash, and the Govt will say, *Oh so sorry that you lost your investments, but dont worry because we are bringing in Socialism to take care of you.*

Ive set things up so that I have some rental property, and an acre in the woods where I can live inexpensively from that income.  But I still dont feel safe.  Its like living on Orwells Animal Farm, and Im pretty sure the Pigs want everything.
