(1) Mental-state.
(2) After mental-state.
(3) ... After mental-state.
1 2 3 - Progress of mental state.
- That's me On the Dangers of Some Eastern Enlightenment.
See?
It's like I'm trying to say that we're just brains containing a progression of "mental-states".
^^ That was a mental state.
- happy day

We're empty.
We're 0.
We're not even <"0">.
Have a day.

Who should he be?
Or... what thing should it be that he is?
He is not 'a thing' so there is none. |

The [quality] changed before the [subject] was learnt. Because of the scale, the Universal sets the foundation (experience) in total knowingness and an open door for experimentation appears. Look on, here and now. Touch in, the love. |

(?Are we like talking
about those kinda created "mental images" and the fluctuating
feelings associated that often go from hero to zero even by external force

(Sorry, should have been "fill in the blanks" after "like:" but decided to knock it up a pinch for the pure enjoyment of any zen pirates reading (and it was not meant as a response to any specific post):) |

A zen pirate? Hmm. If the pirate can whistle like the parrot and the parrot talk like the pirate then could the crew above decks tell them apart. Would the parrot and the pirate collapse into the pirate parrot, only one entity. Would duality only be reasserted when actually traveling to the sphere of the pirate's cabin?
Perhaps it is so with us. Perhaps we are stuck too close to the realm of the mind, using senses and reason to imply differences when really from scale both act in effective concert as a true singularity. |

I'm now reading the Shobo Genzo (The Treasury of the True Dharma Eye). My basic question is "What is my purpose for meditation?" |

Mental state is how your mind works. If you are a believer that is your mental state. If you are not a believer thats your mental state. Most mental states are the unversal consciousness, same kind of mind. It is called group mentality.

If you throw a bunch of rings down onto a table
some will overlap while others will be apart from the group.
The areas where rings overlap is called intersection,
and those that do not intersect with the other simply stand alone.
Its like that with a group of people also,
we share areas of intersection with some other people,
while standing apart from those with whom we share no intersection.
People go to church on Sunday and share *Christian intersection* together,
then they go about their otherwise separate lives. Thats okay.
The only problem is in believing that all of the people who
do not share intersection with you are going to Hell. Whats that about? |

Most people in group mentality always talk of the same things but most often they don't agree with each other. They almost always debate and fight about the same things they are talking about. |

group mentality - aka, gorillas in the mist
mental state - a process of either trying to unlearn, or learn whilst comparing to what we do and don't know
mind - it's big
zen mind - it's small, so small that it only exists in a snort or a cough
mindfulness - the opposite of what is suggests
awareness - taking a moment by moment look, and then looking again, for all moments
satori - to be advised against, for the regular fellow
irregular fellow - he who is against advice, yet presumably toes all lines, cloys to nothing though, and relishes in fungi and green tea |

I finished the Shobogenzo yesterday. One of those reads that will possibly help me understand something else other than the actual text itself. How it expounded the Buddha Dharma was enlightening and it probably touched a subtler dimension of being as Zen wisdom tends to do. I'll let it resonate for a little while longer and see what I notice. |
