A single note played on the piano can blow the mind away Not thinking and not doing ... the note played ... only the note Later I couldn't remember if it actually happened or whether I dreamed it up.

Ting - in the beginning was the unavoidable relation of sound with silence - the first note determines the sound of the wound. |

A thumb can blot out the moon, a palm the sun, a lie the truth. Do the best with what you have, but always be aware that it is a perception, a version of reality. I don't really know what to do with this, but looking at history the most probable thing is that everything we know to be true is entirely wrong.

=^.^= " ......... If you wish to hide the sun, moon and the truth then there is little to talk about. You have made your version of reality. " .........
My answer was too flippant. I apologize. I am dubious of absolutes. I'm not actually sure there is any such a creature as "reality". Reality is relative, it is defined based largely on the perceptions of that which is providing the definition. What is a human? Is it the entire biocosm wherein "human" cells make up roughly 10% of the population? Is it the human organism itself? Is it the cells? Is it the DNA in the cells? Is it the current organization of quarks and electrons? Is it the vibrational quality of the strings which give rise to the apparent existence of all the rest? Is a body a thing, an object, or is it a point seen from a distance? Can we chart it as a wave with time? Does the body have definite dimensions or are they a series of fluxes along orientations of microgravity or is it a fuzzy bundle of loosely coagulated briefly existing interactions? It is all of these, and in many ways none of these, since to observe any is to necessarily be unable to simultaneously observe the rest.
Truth is relative. Or at least subjective. As is the sun. As is the moon. I don't think we have any choice but to make our own version of reality. The trick, I think, isn't to get hung up on what is real but to favor what is actual. That is, do not mistake what is for what really is, what is is only what is, but neither mistake what you WANT to be for what is, what is is what actually is.
That is what I was trying to say the first time, but I was trying to be funny. I should not do that. I have a terrible sense of humor. I'm sorry.

So much is wasted in pursuit of Truth, assumed to be the most noble goal, because it is baseless.
In terms of Things as It is, many things are true, were true, or will be true,
but there is no Truth because nothing has permanence in and of itself.
Yet I say the Spirit has given me a plane of existence of my own,
and promised to spend an eternity there with me, and I believe it,
because I understand it is an illusion, just another part of Things as It is,
which can be anything, limited only by the Spirits will and imagination. |
