There is a society of people who are into *dumpster diving* for a living.  They get around on bicycles, with trailers for their stuff, and often are married with children.  Thats their choice.

For me, Plan Z, if I ever need it is to live in the park and play chess all day, when Im not busy sleeping.  I noticed when I worked in DC that the Meals on Wheels truck came by to feed the homeless people twice a day, at 6am and 6pm. (Then I would see homeless people using their Meals on Wheels cups to panhandle during the day.  I think I would rather play the harmonica for money, probably hymns.)

There are a lot of options in life.  Im exercising one right now, working nights at a resort.  I make about 1/3 of what I would be making if I had stayed in DC.  I live in the country, can use the resorts marina and golf course, etc, and Im happy, as opposed to wondering when I will get mugged, again.

If you dont like what youre doing, do something else.  Lifes a buffet, not a garbage can.

Its easier to change yourself than to try to get other people to change the world.

I cant change the world, but I can cut out a little portion of it for myself and change that to suit myself.  Thats why I bought some property in the woods.  The taxes are about $70 a year.  It has water, a creek runs through it.  I can build a secluded hut there and live the life of a Zen Monk anytime.  But Im not quite ready for that lifestyle yet.

There are so many options....
