TOPIC: CALM MIND, SELF CONFIDENCE |
|
|
 |
Posted on Oct.29.2012 @ 10:13AM EDT by Dalai Lama
Honest concern for others is the key factor in improving our day to day lives. When you are warm-hearted, there is no room for anger, jealousy or insecurity. A calm mind and self-confidence are the basis for happy and peaceful relations with each other. Healthy, happy families and a healthy peaceful nation are dependent on warm-heartedness.

Thank you, your Holiness.
We should be unconcerned with the opinions of others but concerned about
them as people in a warm-hearted way.
Easier said than done, at least for me.

Calmness from Self confidence means standing on firm ground, like the Eagles sang:
*Ive got a peaceful, easy feeling,
and I know you wont let me down,
because Im already standing on the ground.*
Whatever others may think, or think of themselves,
you understand yourself, and thats all you need.

How does the Dalai Lama find the time to write posts for us here with all the commitments he must have?
It's quite humbling - if I could be humble :)

Yeah, if you see a Santa standing in the bushes, taking a leak, with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, its probably not the real santa, especially at the Mall.

Poetry is inspired by Nature naturing.
Bread and pickle word, noun protein, metaphor milk mixed and whisked with olive oil verb salad, in a serving of love to refresh and energise. |

You really have to stop drinking during the day. It makes the night more difficult to get through.

Seems our daily lives could always use some improving.
Im getting old. Im looking forward to a time when I just sit on a porch and watch the seasons change. But first, Id like to travel around in an RV for awhile. Then its the zen shack in the woods for me.
When I was young, I spent so much time thinking and worrying about *my future*.
What was I thinking ? The things Im looking forward to I could have had all along, I just wasnt ready yet. I wanted to do the thngs it took to get where I am now, for the sake of themselves.
And I have just a wee bit more to do. I think 60 will be the time to call it all off, in July of 2014, if Im still around. |

I have a lot of fond memories, even from the bad times.
Some mild indigestion of some of it, I suppose, but not too much.
Enough of a good fill to make me want to rock back in my easy chair,
and loosen my belt.
Im just startin to get ready for the final chapter.
My epitaph will read, *He died of lack of interest, so many do*. |

Take one sultana, marinate in nectar for an eternity, and hey pesto, one wholesome feast for a happy chef. |
