Testing if you are enlightened or not.
Just take a koan like Mu. The koan Mu is the easiest koan yet it is the hardest to pass because this is where new Zen students gets their breakthrough. Getting a glimpse or kensho is the hardest in zen practice. Once you see Mu the other koans are relatively easier to solve since you already have a taste where koans are solve.
If anyone even not a zen student who can tackle Mu he is enlightened. Even if your lineage is not dealing with koans if you are enlightened you can easily solve koans.
So anyone can solve Mu in Zen Forums?

If you are not sure if you are awakened or not, it was kensho.
Awakening leaves no doubt, because there is nothing left to doubt. Absolutely nothing.

Cyber space is not the best 'place' for solving koans.
Solving Mu depends on how well you can bark and it's difficult to do that here.

I noticed that I might "know" how to solve a koan, and "get" the way of zen. But I'm not enlightened nor do I walk the way. It is almost if I learned by heart tons of "zen" responses. And it frightens me ;/

Mind (consciousness) and environment (seasons) happen all at once within. This unconditional reverence for life, exalted spirit, is emptied of a separate self. Awake within awake, every moment can easily be called transcending, truly alive. But it needs adapting as well as enlightening, a generating of confidence, and the witness attitude. Lucky for me I find the place of least resistance with my family. Its truly a blessing. The art of happiness. If you know how to suffer then suffering is OK. |

The fancier restaurants dont have prices in their menus. If you have to ask, you cant afford it.
Awakening doesnt have a price tag either. If you have to ask, it was Kensho.
Some say its a gift or a blessing. I have to ask *from whom to whom*. Can you give yourself a gift ? Can you bless yourself ? |
