TOPIC: EGO BLOCKING ENLIGHTENMENT |
|
|

Ego blocking Enlightenment. From BabyBuddha:
Jage wrote:Wondering what the Ego is doing to prevent us from getting enlightened.
Lets pretend for a moment that the waterfall is the ego...
Imagine sitting on a green grass close by a tall magnificent waterfall. Much of the time all you can see is the waterfall or hearing constant trashing noise it makes, don't you agree ?
After sometimes the water above runs dry... the noise abruptly stops, what happens then ?
A scripted stone is reveal behind the waterfall, You can hear birds chirping.
The lake is no longer trashing and calm yet the water from the waterfall is still there.
The waterfall cannot see the stone, the waterfall cannot hear the chirping.
For even the briefest moment When the constant noise (chatting, thinking, creating, mind activities etc.) feeding the ego is all of sudden stopped silence set in, another dimension is revealed.

Yes it is ... hahaha
When a baby is born, it has no ego .. and yet, it is not enlightened. The truth is that all humans are born with a condition that influence the perception of the world. The instance one perceives an object, filters are applied that influences the way one perceives the object. Filters like aversion, greed, infatuations, cravings, delusions, etc. So, one practices sitting in perfection ... Zazen ... to see past the filters and see the truth of our nature.
Sorry, I', rambling. Excuse the crazy talk of an old man.

Infinite and impermanent are not opposites.
Our ignorance can be infinite but it’s still impermanent (at
least I hope so in most cases) lol. Infinite and non infinite are opposites.
Impermanent and permanent are opposites.
In terms of logic.
To the dualistic mind the statement that ‘something can be infinite and
impermanent’ is a self-contradiction.
So my 'advice' is, Leo, get into a nondualistic state of mind
and the contradiction will be seen to disappear, or as impermanent. lol

Only kidding. The question is worth a lot more than $64.000.
