the day I become enlightened- OSHO Discourse
Almost all those stories when they get enlightened they laugh. They say they are laughing at myself. But that is a diplomatic answer. Actually they are laughing at us...lol

They say if you get an erection lasting more than four hours you should call a doctor.
Hell, Im not calling for a doctor. I will be calling for nurses, stewardesses, waitresses, you name it, but not a doctor.
Awakening is something like that. Now that you got it, maybe you got too much of it. But you may as well just laugh and enjoy it, because its not going anywhere, and youre not going anywhere without it. |

Osho said in another discourse on his enlightenment that it was *like a conference call with God and Death, simultaneously*.
In this discourse, he is asked what was the first thing he did after enlightenment, and he says *I laughed*.
He explains that this is because after looking for it, lifetime after lifetime, he realized he already had it all along.
Yeah, that makes sense. Like someone looking everywhere for their glasses, only to find them on top of their head, where they forgot they left them. Had them all along, within easy reach.
I remember thinking that after years and years of struggling to get myself into the safe hands of God, I found that I had never been out of them, and could never be out of them, even for an instant. After an intensive search outside myself in all directions, as soon as I turned inward, finally, there it was..., right there inside of me, where I forgot I had left it.
I guess thats why I refer to awakening as a recollection rather than a discovery. When you remember where you left something you only thought was lost.

When you sit and just look
and you see no-thing-ness
going-off, being all-ness
empty of itself
you discover hilarity
and you laugh
you fill with laughter
and then, when you look in the mirror
you will piss the pants that you are neither wearing nor not wearing. |

If you dont believe animals can communicate, you probably havent made any effort to communicate with them. That seems to be a sort of self-confirming denial.
Of course, we do not share a language with them. Words fall short.
My dog routinely says *yes* and *please*. Her *yes* is a sort of sneeze, with a shake of her head. Her *please* is when she extends her arms out in front of her, in a sort of curtsey.
My last dog used to grin and laugh. I suppose it was more of a chuckle, but it was very clear to see.
Other animals have communicated with me non-verbally as well. You just have to keep your eyes and your mind open.

yes, no doubt.
and we know plants communicate to each other.
To warn of danger,to advertise sexual receptivity, to announce the all clear (safe).
star is right, if one takes the time to listen and watch and feel.
I have had Dogs who smiled, and laughed, and called out in excitement and fear.
And they feel embarrassment, (isolation from the pack)

Once tried a "multi-cuddle" on my friend two cats, Flubby and Grey-tooth as I call em (fleske-pus & graa-tann NO). I knew it was risky, keeping a keen eye on grey-tooth as the cuddling commenced, and then, something with Grey-tooth eyes, a small shift. And in a micro second I managed to block Grey-tooth`s attack against an inattentive Flubby. Au. That was some serious blow from Grey-tooth, claws like totally extended and probably maximum force too. It really hurt and left totally blood mark, shudder to think of how poor Flubby would have felt that lethal kruger-paw. Cats are like totally hard-core to each other's it seems, so I ended the cuddling for both and gave Grey-tooth a stern look that made it clear that this was not accepted behaviour.

Of course animals have intelligence or minds or however you want to say it.
Many animals have greater intelligence than many humans.
I saw a programme on the TV a while back that showed how a sea lion could solve logic problems quicker than a number of humans.
Men in white coats are having to revise their evaluation of the intelligence of 'lower species' as if no one else has realized this before them. Scientists are so patronizing. The latest I heard is to do with bees. Bees are so intelligent they even seem to understand concepts of time and many others. They use symbols.
Viruses act in unbelievably clever and intelligent ways to infiltrate into cells and destroy them, using disguise and deception.
Scientists still try to explain intelligence away by invoking evolution and natural selection like they try to explain away almost everything including consciousness.
Fact is that nature is totally permeated by intelligence on all levels.

The dogs are out in the back yard, so use to chasing tennis balls but now the snow has covered them. And it's warm enough to make snowballs, for them to chase, as I just did, make one, and threw it across the deck to chase. Now the dog has snow ball in his mouth and torn it into pieces, flakes again. What is this world coming to? Water balls!? Floating words.

The 2 younger dogs are inside, the oldest one is still out there, half blind and deaf, wanting something. I have an apple core in my hand, the hand I am, and will divide and take out the seeds to plant next spring, and throw the rest to the dogs! But wait until I hear a bark.
Can't sit here forever. Can too.two

Ape intellect and apian intellect
From the New Scientist 24 November, 2012
“Researchers have found that bees can count, read symbols
and solve problems that would perplex some of the smartest mammals. Some have
an eye for art appreciation, having been trained to pick either Monet or
Picasso's paintings from a choice of the two artists' work. They may even have
a form of self-awareness, and all of this with a brain the size of a pinhead.”
Truly astounding.
And some of us humans still don’t have any form of self-awareness even
with brains five times that size (e.g. psychology researchers.)

And the Great Ape has only recently acquired a mind to meditate upon. |
