TOPIC: EMPTY REALITY |
|
|
 |
Posted on Nov.29.2012 @ 04:35AM EDT by starduster
To see things as they really are is to see them as *empty*, and just being what they happen to be being at the moment. Including ourselves.
There are only a certain number of different types of atoms (elements). Yet each one is constantly *degrading* into another different kind of atom of that set. So they are not even finite in that, since they all take turns being a different kind of atom of an established set, they are not really different at all. They are a very small community.
So what are they really ? Just energy. The only part of the atom, the nucleus, that can be said to have any body at all is in size relation to the energy field of the atom around it about the same as the football on the 50yd line in relation to the stadium around it.
When we look at all the things around us, they are made of atoms combining with other atoms to make molecules which are temporarily what they are being, while the atoms within them are changing constantly into other kinds of atoms to combine with other atoms, that used to be another kind of atom, to make new molecules to make new things.
The infinite energy field that we are a part of is not even eternal, it only exists in an everchanging Now, since what it was no longer exists, and what it will be, even if predictable, does not exist yet.
That pretty much makes this huge energy field one big IT, beyond description or definition, being just what It is being Now, Things as It is.
That much I can swear to. The part where I experienced this *It* with a consciousness or awareness of Its own, as others have too, is still speculative. That would be *God*. Some say that God is the heart of the matter, and others say that God is just a natural happenstance in what has arisin in an unconscious It, energy field, naturally unfolding, one thing following another. Atoms changing into other kinds of atoms, one after another, falling like dominioes....

The first Buddha lived thousands of years ago. I doubt very much that he knew about quantum physics, yet he had no trouble becoming enlightened. |

Wouldn't say starving himself to the point of death through extreme
asceticism, following various gurus and teachers and overcoming hordes and
hordes of demons, delusions and temptations and several attempts on his life by
a malicious and envious relative, Devadatta, was having ‘no trouble’.
Don't see how he could have known anything about quantum theory. He
didn't become omniscient. He didn’t even
seem to go in for speculating about all kinds of things that had nothing to do with
self-realization.
As some 20th century philosopher said of
philosophy : “it leaves everything as it is"
I would say the same of science. Scientists might one day find out how and why the universe came into being etc etc.
But I don't think such a discovery would make them – or anyone else –
enlightened.
Though it might help.

Nothing works in describing *nothingness* until you see it for yourself,
and have experienced *being It*,
and then everything works. You see It in everything. |

You're all living in a vast hypermarket of opinion. And your brand loyalties are of no concern of mine. Break through matter, break through the word, penetrate its roots and you will find yourself, not in the Kingdom of Quark and Lepton, but in the black hole of the Magna Mater, the Great Mother herself. Truly, it is a terrible thing to fall into the lap of the Living Goddess. |

there is an alternative
dig a pit and fill it with fire stones then pack it over with peaty mud
put timbers atop of the earthen oven, build up a large stack. Use old timbers cut during the northern months of july/august. It may take a few days but they will begin to char and smoke. Poke resin soaked rag into the stack and stand back save you will light yourself on fire by the sudden burst into furious flames of the wooden pile.
when the stack has burnt thoroughly and the beams are becoming embers, scrape away some of the coals and lay small earthen statues of men in the coal dust.
After several hours, carefully turn the baked figures, and worry them with a splash of milk vinegar. And there you have it the gods of the past. They are nothing but earthens, but they represent all manner of accomplishments both real and imagined. If you take one and smash it, you will bring dishonour on your home and your close kin.
And so, those that have come before you must be honoured, and if the statues are their likeness, take care of them or give them to others for gifts to place on the board near the stove or make them small and hang them from a peg. |
