Ching Ch'ing, a Chinese Ch'an master, asked a monk:
-What is the sound outside?
The monk answered:
-That is the sound of rain.
The master said:
-Sentient beings are upside down, they lose themselves in pursuit of things.
No thought has power by itself. All thoughts are equal in weightlessness. A thought cannot think itself. No thoughts is self employed. A thought cannot survice without contact with you with your beliefs. The mind is not sentient. Sentient means it is not source of the existence. Mind does not have will. Mind has no light by its own. Mind has no power. Mind only has the power of belief.
