TOPIC: WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? |
|
|
 |

The question should sound "What is zen?". If you were to take a man who has never heard of Buddha, enlightenment, zen etc. Instruct him to sit zazen and leave him be. Would he get enlightened after enough time? I think he wouldn't. Then zen must be composed of more than still mind meditation. Books and paradoxical talks come to mind :) What do you think?
I want enlightenment. I am searching for a way. I am fighting with myself :) 3xI 1xwant... The road is long

when we want that is suffering...wanting even enlightenment is suffering ...all wanting is suffering as you can see for yourself...so the solution is to stop wanting..stop wanting to be enlightened...instead concentrate on being a kinder gentler person..start as soon as you read this..helping others as much as you can..will take the fixation off you..this will allow a natural life filled with kindness for others..you will forget all this wanting..that is the best cure for desiring....helping others..best regards..owm |

The very act of sitting is an Enlightened action. It seems there is this thought that enlightenment is special. This thought suggest that there is a `not special`experence by which we could contrast and compare. The non-discrminating awareness rejects no experience, nor does it quantify. Zen is an immediate path.
Personally I feel people "know" too much about Zen and this knowing is the problem. The man instructed to sit without prior instruction has more of a chance to settle in. |

Wanting enlightenment?? Pursuing enlightenment?? The very thought is driving away the very thing you seek ... hahahaha
The very practice of sitting in Zazen is to sit in perfection .. To sit as the Buddha sat .... We practice sitting to bring the conditions available ... We aren't building a muscle to complete a formidable task ... It doesn't work that way.
Just sit Be awareness Awareness is the practice Concentrated practice Focus Emptiness ... it just happens

Yeah the more you know the more you need to sit harder. A lifetime may not be enough sitting to drop all your knowledge. But if you are able to stop your thoughts that would be a miracle....

f you want to know the past, to know what has caused you, look at yourself in the present, for that is the past's effect.
If you want to know your future, look at yourself in the present, for that is the cause of the future. |
