  The Buddha was asked:
-To what extent can a person be a speaker of the way?

He answered:
-If a person teaches the way in order to transcend the tyranny of the
material things and to teach how to transcend feelings, perceptions,

→→→→ vertical line TOPIC: CONFLICTING TOPICS
vertical line Posted on Aug.27.2013 @ 07:42AM EDT by cinchona
I must say that there are some very conflicting texts in buddhism it seems that anyone can write and publish a book on it.
One book called "Awakewning the bodhi mind" states that if we don't think about dying we will not die,
another called "Changing destiny" says that it's ok to beat a person if for the right reason,
another from "Pure Land Zen Pure Land" says that a relative or friend is not a suitable teacher, while in the "Tibeten Book of Living" one of the Rinpoche's is giving a speach at his fathers funeral thanking him for being such a great teacher. This is just to name a few the more i read the more conflicts i find, funny but this is the most enlightening thing for me.

People just take what they like it seems and then claim to be a master but the truth be said anyone can brighten your path no matter what their social status.

Reminds of this poem:

Nigtinggale
Rarely seen
Came twice today.

vertical line Buddhism provides expedient means to follow the path which may lead to liberation.
Follow it or not follow it. Buddhism in or Buddhism out.
It has always been your choice.

Yes but, I think that 40 percent is choice and 60 percent is choiceless awareness. How do you feel about that?

There is this thing called fate or destiny.
So whatever choices you make, it is the right one for you.
How do I feel about that?
I feel fine ... a little light headed but fine.

No, never!!!
Therefore, put in the right effort and struggle and fight for liberation.
Either one of those two choices is useless.

vertical line Service should be a extension of your Self. So, throw your Self into the process of things as it is. This is how you awaken others: Observe them, reflect with them, and make them laugh.
