On one occasion, the Buddha said to the monks this:
"No other form do I know, O monks, that so persists in obsessing the mind of a man as the form of a woman.
The form of a woman persists in obsessing the mind of a man.

"No... continue...

vertical line Posted on Nov.02.2013 @ 04:25AM EDT by leoj99
In all religions and spiritual practices the emphasis of forgiving or forgiveness is a virtuous act. You should forgive those who have wronged you or forgive even your enemies. It is considered a very noble deed.

But in Zen there is no such forgiving or forgiveness. You may know much about Zen and do Zen practices but if you are a forgiving fellow I think you are not a Zen man....LOL

vertical line Perhaps there is nothing to forgive as no one could hurt others except himself . In my current understanding of Buddhism , no actions from others could hurt me except my own emotion as others regardless their action is just a great source for teaching me .

vertical line Yeah exactly. You hurt yourself no one else but then you want to become a saint and do a good deed on forgiving others as if you have done a very noble thing..LOL. It is your own fault but look for others as it is their own doing. Imagine almost all people are doing that because religions and others are teaching that. You are conditioned to blame others of your own fault.. I know that for I had experienced that for almost all my life. But isn't very stupid...lol.. It is your own doing and you blame others..

So you can see where the cause of suffering is... very amazing... only very few can see that fact.. that is the suffering the Buddha was talking about...lol .. and after 2500 years it became more complicated...because almost everyone are contributing so much to perpetuate the suffering...lol

.........

People forgive not to be saints, but to allow the free flow of life. If you have been caught up in anger or hate then you are not flowing correctly. Usually these responses are created by not seeing things the way they are.

They are strongly deluded mind, and therefore a waste of time anyway.

Forgive means to understand,

vertical line In order to forgive then you must have scrutinized or blamed someone in the first place.  If you live your life in acceptance you will never blame anyone for anything, and hence will have no one to forgive

.........

People who are angry and dont want to forgive always firstly can not forgive themselves, they get caught up in their anger and frustration and it hampers their practice.

If you can not forgive it means you are attaching yourself to a illusion.

You can not see reality because it is covered in your eyes by strong illusion, if someone exists (believes they do)  they have all kinds of illusions unforgiveness is one of the strongest.

So i guess to forgive (and understand) is stupid, so call me stupid :)

You should try harder to forgive.
To forgive means freedom from suffering.
