If we train our breathing, we can control our emotions--that is, we can cope with the happiness and pain in our lives. We should practice until we feel this; our practice is not complete until we can see this clearly.

Breathing in, suffering fully.
Breathing out, living fully.
Stopping (at the end of the out breath), welcoming all.

"pointing directly into one's mind"- Discovering a relationship with Mind and Practice.

"teachings are transmitted outside the Scriptures"- Experiencing presence in Reality; the creativity of Reality.

"not relying on the words and letters"- Having an open-infinite understanding for all beings in need of compassion.
