One day Yao-shan Wei-yen (750-834), one of the well-known Chinese Ch'an master, was asked by the host of the monastery to give his sermon to the assembly who for a long while was expecting his teaching. Yao-shan said: "Strike the bell."

Wondering if what are the daily practice of Zenguide members.. It seems the daily practice of members of the other Zen Forum is that each has their own practice and for themselves alone.. It seems to me their practice was like the pious ones but have not really changed themselves.. I have already tested their practices by saying something they don't like.. nothing personal.. but they easily get pissed off and annoyed...LOL.. I guess their practices are just for the sake of practicing without any particular goal to change...LOL
The difference between ordinary thinking and feeling and meditative thinking and feeling is ordinary thinking and feeling has desire stitched into it and meditative thinking and feeling is just thinking and feeling.
