THE SOUND OF RAIN DROPS Ching Ch'ing, a Chinese Ch'an master, asked a monk: -What is the sound outside? The monk answered: -That is the sound of rain. The master said: -Sentient beings are upside down, they lose themselves in pursuit of things. The monk asked: -What should I do? Ching Ch'ing replied: -I am the sound of the rain.
Zazen - Just sitting - in the form of thought is linear. But look at this above; Ching Ch'ing's answer is not linear at all. Why don't more people sit still? Because they perceive "just sitting" as a linear process but in fact it is a very wholesome process which includes the entire cosmos.
I see you.You are right.I respect to you.I wouldn't tell but I give up I want to tell a story about me.I don't exactly remember how many years ago it may around 10 or so.Anyway one day I was walking in the street I was passing near a DVD Shop.Suddenly I noticed a picture hanging on the corner of the wall in the DVD Shop.Those days were my healthy days.I went inside looked for a while then bought it and brought it to my home.It is still hanging on the wall at my room.It is a picture that there is a sword at the Uma Thurman's hand.Here the sword symbolizes the linear.What is interesting is many years passed but I noticed the simple detail new.It was the emblem of the sword.Which shows the owner.Hattori Hanzo.
This may seems ordinary to you.But when I first noticed it it wasn't so ordinary to me.The picture is this one;
