TECHNIQUES FOR MEDITATION
Dr. Dinesh C. Shah:
In this week's issue of the Time magazine, your website is mentioned for getting guidance the technique for meditation for better life free from stress and learning the secrets of blissful life. I want to learn from you how I can achieve this.

CT:
Dear Sir,
Thanks for visiting this forum, bringing the news from Time magazine to us and asking about what you concern.

Actually, we do not have any especial technique on our own. All of what have been collected and put together in words are from the old times when the men of old saw their fellow people's need and just gave some tools as temporary means to help them to remove their mental burdens which they did not have from the very beginning.

All of those skillful means are like some kind of medicine to help persons who got sick. A person who is healthy or in good health condition does not need to take any medicine. They all have their own limitation like medicine does. Each kind of medicine may be able to cure some specific kind of illness. With this analogue I mean when a person does not have any burden on his mind, he does not need any technique to remove it.

Most of mental burdens come from our thought or imagination which divides us and things around us.

Therefore, if we could realize this and understand it thoroughly, the burdens would fall off themselves and we are as light as from the beginning. I would like to emphasize this: what we need to do is to watch and see it, to understand thoroughly, entirely and not to try to stop the flow of thought or imagination. Why? If we try to stop it, it may stop a little while and after that it will be running again and maybe it will run double or triple or multiple times...then all of our efforts to stop it would go in vain.

Otherwise, when we understand something thoroughly, entirely then we definitely see what to do by ourselves and we do not have to ask or learn from any one else. I think you already have this experience.

Therefore, we come here and talk together as close friends - no one is teacher or student here - who sit on a bank of a river look at the sunrise or the sunset of the day, appreciate deeply its beauty together but do not even think of taking it home for oneself.

And maybe in our talk we may learn, discover more of ourselves as human beings, may see things that are always right in front of us but we might not have seen them.

When one thinks that he already got the answer for his quest, the door to the unknown is closed to him. He is at the dead end.

If you like, you are invited to come and talk with us in the manner mentioned here. This forum is open for public and not limited for any specific group.
