ON ZEN RITUALS
Questioner:
I recently found a Zen Buddhist group close by and attended a 'session' with them. One thing I was struck with was the amount of bowing during the ceremony. Could someone please instruct me in why the bowing...especially since there is no belief in a God or Higher Power. Thanks.

CT:
When one whose mind is not empty,
He can not do bowing.
Even his body does,
It is not bowing.
Only bowing,
No bower nor bowed.
The same with prostrating.
