He was once selling bamboo baskets. Coming down off the a bridge, he stumbled and fell.
When Ling-chao saw this she ran to her father's side and threw herself down.

YOU AND SOCIETY
the d.o.m.:
You and the society are different or the same?

softzen:
Define your terms.

lehish:
>You and the society are different or the same?<

>SUBHUTI'S EMPTINESS

Subhuti was Buddha's disciple. He was able to understand the potency of emptiness, that nothing exists except in its relationship of subjectivity and objectivity. One day, in a mood of sublime emptiness, Subhuti was resting underneath a tree when flowers began to fall about him.

"We are praising you for your discourse on emptiness," the gods whispered to Subhuti.

"But I have not spoken of emptiness," replied Subhuti.

"You have not spoken of emptiness, we have not heard emptiness," responded the gods. "This is the true emptiness." The blossoms showered upon Subhuti as rain.

Subhuti

softzen:
Good table-football game too.

lehish:

shayne:
what we want is what we get.
BUT i did not make it.

i dont know about different or the same.

lehish:
raisens

shayne:
say raisens instead of facing the complexites?

the d.o.m.:
Great Women & Men of Zen,

The words the d.o.m. has used in his first question are plain, simple and direct. There is no secret or hidden meanings in any of them. If anyone of you need to define, just go ahead or you can look it in any English dictionary available. It wouldn't be necessary for the d.o.m. to give any extra definition to any of those words.

Otherwise, if anyone of you are so kind enough, just give some plain, simple and direct answer to the question.

lehish:
did seem was defining?

Woodsman:
One is not the other.

The other is not the one.

lehish:
was

eating raisens

the d.o.m.:
From lehish
****did seem was defining?****
If you think so, it's so to you.

shayne:
well same and different d.o.m.
this is what i meant. i cant see same and differant.

just life.

and it wasnt about raisens or being obscure or asking for defiantions or what not.

mine stands....it was my direct and honest response.

what more is there? im sure you would not disagree.

lehish:
>>>If anyone of you need to define, just go ahead or you can look it in any English dictionary available.<<<

d.o.m.
lehish:
>and it wasnt about raisens<

wasn't eating raisens when posted?

the d.o.m.:
From lehish (quoted):
****If anyone of you need to define, just go ahead or you can look it in any English dictionary available. d.o.m.****
It's called, "showing you the way but not doing the job for you."

lehish:
was resonsing:

****did seem was defining?****

"If you think so, it's so to you."

the d.o.m.:
From shayne
****well same and differant d.o.m.
this is what i meant. i cant see same and different.

just life.****

The d.o.m. would say some thing like this:
"You are the society and the society is you."

What would you say?

shayne:
what we want is what we get.
is what i wrote. and yes.....we are the society we make.

same difference.

thanks shayne.

DavidLeong:
Good morning friends, it is like a drop in an ocean... You are a friend & we are friends...

the d.o.m.:
From shayne
****....we are the society we make.****

Exactly. And it wouldn't be said it's different or the same. It'd rather be said, "That's it! That's what we are, as a whole."

DavidLeong:
Hi, look like someone just came down from a mountain & check whether a mountain is cooler or warmer right down in the valley... I think perhaps we got to ask back if it is alone or lonely up there...
Woodsman:
Hey, if you are not in it, it isn't you.
What the hell am I talking about?

I was thinking grocery store, stuck in traffic kind of thing, ah that's all folks.

Woodsman:
Okay I lied, I'm not very social.
If I got it right I can come out of the forest and mingle with all the beer drinking, tv sportalcoholic, drained brained bunny rabbits that I choose to hang aoound with. My god, miserable courses of of trapped in karmic backwater...sinus stufff.

Prefect:
there is no "different" there is no "same" and raisens are good...but sticky.

Master Zen:
busy i see.

fatnhappy:
rasins are grapes . moths are catepillers . humans are always changing . no ending . fat
