One day the Buddha was asked by the naked ascetic Kassapa:
-Master Gotama, is suffering created by oneself?
The Buddha replied:
-Not so, Kassapa.
-Then, is suffering created by another?
-Not so, Kassapa.
-Then,... continue...

A QUESTION ABOUT "MAKE LOVE, DON'T"
the d.o.m.:
Great thinkers & talkers,

The d.o.m. now has another question:
Can we find any benefits or pitfalls at all might be brought up by the slogan repeated:"Make love, don't make war!"?

6-10 Chars:
Sex and War are both products of desire, ending only when desire is exhausted, resuming when desire has accumulated. Desire will exhaust itself one way or another. If some people had more sex, other people would try to stop them, because desire also causes resentment, and success becomes a target.

Therefore, even though making love is more pleasant than making war, maybe the slogan itself incites equal amounts of good and bad.

If you really want to stop war, kill all human males and reproduce docile females through cloning. Humanity would roam the earth like sheep eating grass, but there would be no war. I say that even though I'm a man, because I know the true nature of desire.

I hear that LSD makes orgasms peaceful, and anti-drepressants make orgasms difficult, so the slogan would be better anyway saying, "Make drugs, not war." Hee hee!

6-10 Chars:
Or even better: "Take Drugs, Make Love!"

shayne:
well as a thing it can be subject to cause and effect. sometimes making love makes war.
probalby more so than alot other things.
guys gf down the street said so...haha. im joking. this was only said as a polar opposite to war in vietnam. but the war in veitnam was just that.....a thing to do i quess. so naturally people want the opposite. or unnaturally.

so pick and choosing isnt it.
pick neither and see the higher ground.
to me.

Lynn:
percieving the words of "making love" as having sex

lehish:
>thinkers & talkers<

hehe

6-10 Chars:
This is direct from a respected reference:
The verb "make love" has 1 sense in WordNet.
1. roll in the hay, love, make out, make love, sleep with, get laid, have sex, know, do it, be intimate, have intercourse, have it away, have it off, screw, fuck, jazz, eff, hump, lie with, bed, have a go at it, bang, get it on, bonk -- (have sexual intercourse with; "This student sleeps with everyone in her dorm"; "Adam knew Eve"; "Were you ever intimate with this man?")
Maybe we could say "SPREAD love, not war" to mean making people everywhere happier. Actually, that sounds nice, and there's no karmic back-lash the way there seems to be with actual sex. Maybe that's why I became celibate--I got tired of all the weird karma!

miwuwei:
as i said..all this cowards!running into religion to not solve their neurotic points!(beside the fact that they cant hide still beeing into it!)...i keep the sexpart!....if someone doupt the phallic symbolism of weapons use by old(or powerless young beta monkeys) guys...well,go back to sleep!

6-10 Chars:

Magst Du wirklich soviel Sex?

Master Zen:
what kind of knukleheadism is that up^ there?

6-10 Chars:
Oh, that was just the grown-ups talking! Go back to sleep!

lehish:
mutatum atuma matima mauta

6-10 Chars:
mutatum atuma matima mauta

I looked on Google, and those are all real words in different languages, but maybe you like jokes! Thank you for teaching!

Polly:
>Can we find any benefits or pitfalls at all might be brought up by the slogan repeated:"Make love, don't make war!"<

Yes, you'd get sued for breach of copyright if you used them on any t-shirt other than a Katherine Hamnett one.

Number9:
Overpopulation tends to lead to war.

miwuwei:

Polly:
WHAT

6-10 Chars:
Jealous?

Polly:
Jealous?

Polly:
When you answer my question to you, ie 'Jealous of what?' you will see how stupid your own question is. Get it?

6-10 Chars:
WHAT

I am jealous of my illusion.
If I were twice myself, I might be half a man.
Let an old man dream.
Let a young man dream.

Mr Nmber9,
You made a good point here.
