Recently I ran across info. revealing Buddhism's influence to numerous parables in the New Testament. For ex. The prodigal son, although slightly different versions, show up in both religions. How accurate is this and can it be said that the parables were influenced or that there is a parallel between the two religions in this sense? Thank you. Angela

i really feel that religions are outdated these days. we can believe in god or have higher ideals without having to attach ourselves to a religion. religions only serve to divide and create differences or at the very least are the excuses for them.

i thought this was a comprehensive site, and it helped me because i'm trying to synthesize all my ideas into one core belief and learning about buddhism helps me to verbalize some of what i'm thinking and hardly understand yet.
